We are in absolute awe of our recent maternity photoshoot featuring a mama-to-be who is truly beautiful inside and out. We had so much fun with this session – our client let us style the whole photo shoot, including her dress selection, which helped us capture the most stunning images.

This gorgeous cognac cape dress is designed by the wonderful Mi Estillo. We headed out to Deas Island park for this outdoor adventure, hidden beneath the trees and by the water at sunset. Upon arrival, the weather appeared to be a bit dreary in the park, but we decided to power through. We’re glad we did, because the skies eventually shifted to a beautiful, golden night.

Located on an island in the lower reaches of the Fraser River, this is a great quiet setting for an outdoor photoshoot. With tall cottonwood trees and surrounding wetlands, nature is abundant everywhere you look. You might see a few friendly creatures surprise you in your session! Home to a variety of wildlife creatures – from eagles and chickadees to frogs and otters – it is always an adventure! We pre-selected this location ahead of time, and are always open to new, exciting and unique locations around the lower mainland!

This couple pre-booked their maternity session as well as their newborn shoot and chose to incorporate a number of different personal touches, including their beloved pet doggy! Dad took a few photos in his Delta Police Uniform, and they added their own custom quilted backdrop for one of their newborn looks. Using personal elements is always our favourite thing to include because it makes each session so unique to each couple.

Our gorgeous mama-to-be utilized several gowns from our custom maternity closet, including a blue dress from designer Katharina Hakaj,  purple dress by Canadian designer  Amy Corneau Couture, and a second Mi Estillo number in red.

We started building our custom maternity gown closet several years ago, and have slowly added to the collection, bringing on different designers ranging from local designers to international brands. Most of these dresses are specifically made for maternity photography. It gives our clients the option to have a more glamorous look, to ensure they feel their most comfortable and beautiful. We want the experience to be as effortless as possible for our clients.

When it comes to pre-booking your maternity photo session, we recommend setting a date around 1-2 months before your due date. This mama decided to pre-book her newborn session at the same time, so she could guarantee she didn’t miss out on a thing! We have even bundled  Baby’s First Year Packages so you can ensure all of your important milestones are covered.
