Our team recently had the pleasure of capturing a gorgeous mama-to-be at the ever-so-stunning Silver Ridge Estate. Perched on a hill not too far from Fort Langley, and offering sweeping views of both the Fraser River and North Shore Mountain Range, this Edwardian Manor and National Historic Site was a dream to capture!

When we arrived on-site, we found ourselves nestled in a pristine park-like setting with natural surrounding tranquility and trails that never end! If you’ve ever been to Pagoda Ridge golf course, you’ll remember the area well – privacy abounds as you immerse yourself in formal manicured grounds and unspoilt countryside that offers ample room for social distancing. A gorgeous variety of flowers, trees, and even a meditation garden pond offer multiple outdoor sites to use as a backdrop for photos.

Silver Ridge Estate is known for providing grounds with a wealth of scenery and special areas for photoshoots and filming. According to their team, it has been used as the set for many television network productions… and we can see why! Everything photographers like us need is in one place, from grand architecture, to beautiful outdoor scenery, sweeping views, and even an essence of historic charm!

The manor was perfect for this maternity shoot because it offered spacious interior spaces that were designed to capture the eye. They were also able to offer us exclusive use of these spaces, as well as a lot more flexibility and privacy than certain other venues, which made the day a bit easier and joyful for everyone – including our stunning mama-to-be!

For this maternity shoot, we were pleased to have help from Little Local Wreaths, who provided some decor and dried flowers to further amplify our indoor scenes. Our gorgeous mama-to-be utilized some gowns from our custom maternity closet, including a red dress and pink dress by designer Mi Estillo, a powder blue gown and black ruffled gown by designer Katherine H, and a black body suit and skirt number by Amy Corneau Couture.

Maternity sessions like these are generally best done about a full month prior to your due date, when your belly is showing nicely but you aren’t too uncomfortable. They can be done in our studio, or at a location like this one – wherever you are most comfortable for us to capture this beautiful time in your life!

For more information on our maternity sessions, check out our website. You can also view our full gallery of maternity photography to see many other examples of our work. Remember… By having maternity photos taken, you will be able to give your child a glimpse into a world that they will never be able to see first-hand – a world in which their parents were oh-so-excited to meet them! These photos are truly something that you and your whole family will cherish forever. We can’t wait to create magic with you!
