Who’s ready to smash some cake!? Cake Smash sessions have become some of our most popular shoots lately. It’s a photography trend that has taken off over the past few years, and we’re here for it! There is nothing more fun than capturing a baby experiencing the sweetness of a birthday cake for the very first time.
With our custom created sets and specially crafted cakes by Leah’s Cake Creations, you will absolutely love these little keepsakes forever. Let your babe frolic around with frosting, and mess up some sponge cake, while we capture all of the cuteness.
If your little one’s first birthday is coming up, this is an incredible way to capture a very special milestone. All of our packages come with high res digital files that are chosen using our online client gallery. They also all include our custom souvenir 12×12 plaque mount collage. Most of our packages always start with some pre-smash portraits, so we can capture a few milestone moments before things get messy! This gives the opportunity for your baby to have a quick outfit change.
If you’re a little apprehensive about your baby getting messy, we also offer a milestone birthday session, that still includes a birthday set up and custom background, just without the cake!
I’ve been doing photography for 20+ years, and during that time, I’ve never met anyone who regrets capturing the exciting, transitional, and special stages of their child’s life. Year after year, I have the pleasure of photographing expectant moms, and eventually their precious babies with these cake smash sessions and others. I truly believe that investing in professional photos is one of the best ways for a family to celebrate these incredibly special moments.
Do you want to join in on the fun with your baby!? We always say, ‘the more the merrier!’ One of our packages includes a whole family and sibling set up, so we can capture everybody together. These sessions are booked for a period of 2 hours, but often only take between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
After the fun of the cake smash, we will offer you another exciting add-on: bathtub splash sessions! These are a fantastic way to clean up and end the shoot. Your little one will be happily splashing around and I will get to capture those special moments. You’ll also have a clean baby to bring home!
Bubbles, bubbles, everywhere… and plenty to splash and play in! Most babies that I’ve photographed absolutely love making a good splash. Whether that means playing in our mini bath tub, playing with water toys, or swimming, water is water to a playful child, and most kids love playing in it in one form or another.
You can add this little bubble bath onto any cake smash session. My favorite part of these shoots is when babies realize they can splash as much as they want – it’s splashtastic!
